What should a contractor website cost in Los Angeles?

Our six-page contractor website costs $2,500 one time, or $1,250 for the first five accepted Los Angeles contractor projects. That is our published offer, not a market average. Compare any quote by its pages, ownership, running costs and the work you can inspect.

What should the website quote include?

Start with a named page list. Our Launch Website includes home, three service pages, about and contact. It also includes mobile layouts, tap-to-call buttons, a short enquiry form, basic search setup, two agreed revision rounds and the finished-site handover after payment.

For a roofer, the three service pages might explain replacement, repairs and gutters, if those are services the business actually offers. Ask who confirms the facts, supplies approved photos and writes each page. A new photography shoot, full copywriting project or custom booking integration needs an explicit scope.

Page count alone does not describe the effort. A gallery needs selected images and useful captions; an estimate tool needs agreed calculations and testing. Ask the agency to name those deliverables rather than hide them inside “premium design.”

Why can two website quotes be so different?

A template-based build may reuse an existing layout with your content. A custom design involves more decisions about the offer, page structure, images and how visitors move through the site. Either can fit a business. Ask to see the actual proposed direction and what will be unique to you.

A one-time purchase, a monthly website rental and an ongoing marketing service are also different commitments. With a rental, ask whether the website remains available when payments stop. With a purchase, ask what hosting and maintenance you will need afterward. Compare the written deliverables and total commitment before comparing the headline prices.

What will I pay after launch?

List every recurring charge: domain renewal, hosting, maintenance, booking tools and any usage-based services. Record promotional rates, the price after the offer ends, the minimum term and cancellation costs. If an item is unknown, leave it marked “not quoted” rather than treating it as free.

Our care service is optional. The founding rate is $199 per month for six months, then $299. It does not begin automatically after a website purchase. It covers agreed hosting and upkeep, small edits and Google listing care. If you use another host, that provider’s charges are separate.

Compare the same time period for each proposal. Add the build fee, the recurring charges in that period and any required outside costs. If one service has a longer minimum term, show the remaining commitment separately. A twelve-month comparison does not make a longer contract disappear.

Confirm who owns the domain and finished work.

The domain should remain in an account the business controls. Ask what files, content and access you receive when the project is paid and what happens if the agency relationship ends.

Third-party tools, stock assets and software can carry separate licenses. Owning your custom website does not automatically transfer someone else’s software or image rights. The agreement should make that clear.

Does the price include SEO, blogs or AI search?

Basic page titles, search access, internal links and a sitemap are website foundations. Ongoing articles, competitive research, outreach and ad management involve continuing work and should have their own scope. Ask what will be done, how often and how the work will be reported.

Useful articles answer questions your customers actually ask. A roofing company might explain its inspection process using approved project photos and the steps its team follows. Publishing a generic article does not by itself earn a backlink; someone else must choose to reference it.

For Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, Google says the same foundational SEO practices apply. There is no special AI file or schema requirement. Ask a provider selling GEO, or AI search optimization, to explain the concrete page improvements. Google also advises against providers promising a first-place ranking.

How do I judge the design before paying?

Open the proposed website on your phone. Can you identify the business, understand the service and find the next step without zooming? Read one service explanation and try the navigation. Ask the agency to demonstrate the form and the confirmation a customer will see.

Look beyond the first large image. Project photos need useful context, video should have playback controls, and a review slider should remain readable on a phone. Ask whether the imagery is from real projects, licensed stock or an illustrative concept. Only genuine, approved customer feedback belongs on a live business website.

Our examples below show design decisions you can inspect. They are fictional demonstration businesses with illustrative imagery and clearly labeled sample reviews. They show the design direction, not customer results or a promise that every feature is included in the Launch package.

What should happen before I pay a deposit?

Request a written scope, payment milestones, delivery assumptions, revision allowance and refund terms. Ask what happens if photos, domain access or third-party approval are delayed. Confirm who approves the final pages and how extra work is priced.

A free homepage concept can help you judge the direction, but it is not the complete website. At Beverly Hills Growth, the free concept requires no payment or card. Paid work begins only after the scope is approved.

If your existing website already explains the business and receives enquiries, a targeted improvement may be enough. Start by identifying the specific problem. Use the worksheet below to compare proposals on that problem, then choose the provider whose work, responsibilities and ongoing costs are clear.

A worked example, using our published offer

See the first year clearly.

For an eligible founding Launch project, the website build is $1,250. If you separately choose optional care and keep it for a full year, the calculation is:

Website build
$1,250
First 6 months of optional care $199 × 6
$1,194
Next 6 months of optional care $299 × 6
$1,794
Build plus 12 months of optional care
$4,238

This is an illustration of twelve months of chosen care, not a required annual commitment. Domain renewal, outside subscriptions, extra work and any applicable taxes are additional. Without our care, the build remains $1,250; arrange and budget for your own hosting and maintenance.

Ridgeline: explain the material and the next step.

The roof image sets the direction. Service explanations and material studies give the visitor more to assess. Open the concept on a phone, then follow the route to a website enquiry.
